Learn to march

Free sheet music provided. I used to hear this marching piece every week in school when the percussionist in military band practices. Really cool song to play!

Hand techniques - Speed, Control, Consistency

I realize I haven't been posting beginner lessons so here you go.

This is a basic lesson of how to hold you stick, different exercises that you can practice to achieve a higher speed and smooth roll. Having the right technique is important. It becomes sort of like a habit and is harder to change later part in your drumming so make sure you get it right.

If you have been playing for quite a while and notice that your drumming speed haven't been increasing the way you wanted, chances are you are doing it wrong. Check this one out.

Double Stroke roll exercise

Sweet exercise for double stroke accents. An intermediate exercise to keep those smooth rolls. This is also an inspiration for solo ideas.

Stick trick

I'd always liked stick tricks like the Windmill and stuff. It just fancy stuff that you do when you're bored. Unless of course you do visual drumming like some marching bands.

Here's one really cool. The juggle roll by snarescience. This dude did a really good job explaining it. Gonna try it out.
